Kathanilayam to Distribute Free Books to Literary Enthusiasts

Srikakulam News Online : Kathanilayam Telugu Book Library, established by the legendary writer and Sahitya Akademi Award Winner Shri Kalipatnam Ramarao, has been a cornerstone of the Telugu literary world for the past thirty years. Housing every story published in Telugu from 1944 to the present, this library is a treasure trove of old and new magazines featuring Telugu stories. If there’s a Telugu story you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it here. The library also boasts an extensive collection of major Telugu storybooks, novels, and other literary works.

In a heartwarming gesture, the Kathanilayam Trust members recently announced that they will be giving away books for free to literary enthusiasts. The giveaway will feature additional copies of titles already in their collection. This book donation campaign will take place in Srikakulam at the Kathanilayam office from June 4, 2024, to June 9, 2024.

Since its establishment in 1997, Kathanilayam Trust has preserved over 4,000 magazines and newspapers, including dailies that are unfamiliar to today’s generation, such as Yuva, Jyothi, Jagruthi, Andhra Patrika, Bharati, Jayanti, and Samvedana. Celebrated as a premier reference library in the Telugu states, Kathanilayam safeguards the literary heritage of more than 600 writers and novelists. Noted writer Shri Gutala Krishnamurthy lauds it as an invaluable resource for Telugu literature. In 2014, Kathanilayam embraced the digital age by launching its website, further extending its reach and impact.
