Godavari News Online: Rachakonda Narasimha Sharma, a prolific writer still penning his tales beyond the century mark, serves as a beacon of inspiration for the burgeoning talents in Telugu literature. His latest work, “Soundaryamlo Naduchuname,” a translated poetry collection, was recently unveiled at “The Telugu Literary Symposium of India,” organized by the Vanguri Foundation in Kakinada.
On this occasion, Shri Kilari Gowri Naidu, Vice President of the Rachakonda Narasimha Sharma Literary Organization, lauded Sharma’s remarkable literary journey as both admirable and motivating.
Remarkably, Sharma, the brother of the legendary Telugu story writer and novelist Rachankonda Viswanatha Sastry (Raavi Sastry), is a renowned psychiatrist based in Visakhapatnam. A graduate of Andhra Medical College in 1948, he obtained his MD in 1959 and practiced medicine in the USA for several years. Beyond his medical career, Sharma’s prowess as a translator, particularly his work on Shakespeare’s sonnets, has garnered widespread acclaim. Additionally, his translation of “Annapurnaksharam” by writer and critic Ramatheertha has further solidified his literary contributions.
Known for his progressive outlook, Sharma has consistently advocated for the underprivileged in his writings. The book release of “Soundaryamlo Naduchuname” in Kakinada was a momentous occasion attended by literary luminaries such as Vanguri Chitten Raju, Radhika Mandipudi, Joshyula Krishna Babu, Acharya Varija Rani, and Mallikeswara Rao, President of the Australia Telugu Malli.
