From Dhaba Worker to College Topper: The Journey of Palle John

Godavari News Online : A student who has proved that poverty is no barrier to talent, Palle John demonstrates that with a desire to study, nothing can hinder success. John, who never knew his parents, worked in a hotel while studying and earned the respect of everyone around him.

A native of East Godavari district, John secured 918 marks in the intermediate results. He completed his intermediate education from Raja College, a historic institution in Tuni town of Kakinada district. John topped among Kakinada district government college students with his remarkable score. Behind his success lies a tear-jerking story of resilience and determination.

Raised by his grandmother after losing his parents at a young age, John showed great intelligence but could not afford to continue his education beyond class 10. He lived in hostels until he had to drop out due to financial constraints. To survive, he joined a highway dhaba as a worker.

The hotel owner noticed John’s writing skills and, upon learning about his situation, was shocked to find that poverty had forced him to stop studying. Recognizing John’s talent and potential, the hotel owner used his contacts to secure John admission to Raja College, even though the admissions had already closed.

Balancing his work at the dhaba with his studies, John continued his education with unwavering determination. His hard work paid off when he scored 918 marks in the recently released intermediate results. Despite his hardships, John’s achievement has brought joy and pride to everyone around him.

In a world where many students with all facilities and expensive educations struggle to pass, John’s story stands out. He worked on the side and still emerged as a college topper, earning him the title of a “ruby in the soil.” John remains hopeful that with support from donors, he can pursue higher studies and achieve even greater heights.
