In an age where hospitals often demand high fees, it may seem unusual that a multi-specialty hospital on the outskirts of Hyderabad operates without a billing counter. Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, the founder of Arundhati Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), revealed that they provide all medical services free of charge at their 400-bed hospital in Dundigal, Hyderabad. So far, they have successfully conducted 5,210 surgeries without any cost. Inspired by the Gift A Smile initiative, the institute decided to extend free medical services to the underprivileged.
A specialized cardiology department has been established, offering advanced medical facilities. Free ECGs, 2D Echo tests, and cath lab procedures are provided. Expert cardiologists lead the department, ensuring comprehensive medical support.
Additionally, the hospital offers expensive medical tests such as MRI scans, CT scans, ultrasound scans, X-rays, endoscopies, and dialysis services, all without charge. Free surgical treatments are also provided for correcting vision problems, along with complimentary eyeglasses. Maternal and child care services are provided in the gynecology department. Hospital records indicate that over 230,000 outpatients have been served in the past three years, with more than 8,000 surgeries performed across various departments, including 3,000 major surgeries. Diagnostic procedures like MRI, CT scans, ultrasonography, mammography, digital X-rays, EEGs, and EMGs are all conducted at no cost.
