Hyderabad News Online – For the first time ever, an exclusive pre-release screening of the unreleased film Ramam Raghavam was held at the Cherlapally Central Jail. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, over 2,500 inmates had the opportunity to watch the emotional drama, which highlights the complexities of the father-son relationship.
The film stars actors Samuthirakani and Dhanraj Kornani who played the father and son duo respectively. Both actors, along with the crew, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Cherlapally Jail authorities for making this premiere possible.
“We are grateful for the overwhelming support from the jail authorities. We also thank Sri Gowri Ramchandran, Jail Superintendent and staff. The concept of this film speaks to real-life situations. And the jail authorities immediately understood the importance of sharing this message with their inmates. I never thought in my dreams that my film will move hearts of prisoners.
I am so happy to see this with my debut movie itself. My sincere thanks to Slate Pencil Stories, producer Prudhvi Polavarupu and presenter Prabhakar Aripala. They believed in me and gave this opportunity to make this possible” said Dhanraj Kornani.
The screening left many prisoners visibly moved, with several expressing their deep emotions. The positive response from the inmates, as well as the encouragement from the police and jail staff, has been a defining moment for the Ramam Raghavam team.
The team extended their gratitude for the opportunity to premiere the film in such a meaningful setting, hoping the film’s message continues to resonate with audiences across the two Telugu states.
