Blinkit’s 10-Minute Ambulance Saves Life, Doctor Praises Pre-Hospital Care

Dr. Manan Vora recently shared a remarkable story on LinkedIn about how Blinkit’s new 10-minute ambulance service made a critical difference in saving a patient’s life. This incident highlights the importance of quick response and pre-hospital care in emergencies.

Blinkit, known for its rapid grocery delivery, launched its ambulance service in Gurugram on January 2, 2025. Dr. Vora’s post detailed how a patient was swiftly transported to the hospital, but more importantly, how the ambulance provided essential care during the journey. What made this service stand out was the level of pre-hospital care provided.

The ambulance crew stabilized the patient’s neck with a cervical collar, cleared their airway with suctioning, provided oxygen support, splinted fractures, and administered necessary medications. Dr. Vora emphasized that this level of care is uncommon in India, where patients often arrive at hospitals without proper stabilization, leading to further complications.

Dr. Deepak Agrawal from AIIMS also praised Blinkit’s initiative, calling it a “healthcare revolution” for India. Dr. Vora pointed out that every minute saved and every bit of pre-hospital care can significantly improve a patient’s chances of survival. While Dr. Vora has been critical of quick commerce services in the past, he expressed his admiration for this particular initiative.

He believes that this is a vital use of rapid delivery services, far more important than delivering fast food. However, Dr. Vora also stressed that the service must remain affordable and accessible to everyone to truly make a difference.
