Telugu Grandpas Shine in Community Service Across US Cities

Mountain House News Online: It’s a late morning in the Mountain House area of Cordes Village, United States. A gathering of people, particularly retired officials and senior citizens, convened at the local park to discuss community service and street cleaning.

Following a brief meeting, they swiftly assumed responsibilities as advised. After wearing custom-made t-shirts, they began clearing garbage from the streets. This noble effort has earned praise in US magazines.

Most volunteers involved in this service hail from the Telugu states, earnestly striving to improve their surroundings. Recently, as part of the Parents Club of Mountain House activities, numerous senior citizens actively participated in a mission to clean up trash along streets and near schools in the surrounding area.

This initiative was spearheaded by Kumudakar Chitturi, father of Dr. Satyakant Chitturi. Together, their group collected over 60 bags of waste, significantly enhancing the community’s aesthetics.

The United States is a home to numerous Telugu senior citizens. While some have made this their permanent residence, many live with their working children. Telugu people from US have established communities and clubs focused on cultural, regional, educational, health, and social services. Recently, one such community related to the Parents Club of Mountain House, has gained media attention for its efforts in promoting ecological balance and environmental conservation.

During his recent visit to Mountain House, Mr. K.C. Naidu, a retired sub-treasury officer from Visakhapatnam, praised the commitment of the Telugu senior citizens in the community. He conveyed his sincere appreciation and congratulations to the team for their dedication to creating a more vibrant environment.
